17th July 2001, Tuesday-

Mdo is leaving today, I called Edgardo the day before and he said 'Be there at 4am'.  Then I called Pablo, who was still drowsy with sleep and as usual, he didn't know where he was going or when his flight was.  That's so cute.  The rest of our conversation is private and anyway, I dutifully went al aeropuerto to see someone off for la primera vez de mi vida.  Reached there with the co- creator of this site, Jiaxin (Who had been so obliging, I cannot thank her enough.)  at 3 plus and waited and waited and waited.  Finally, I spotted Caleb, seems to me that he's always the earliest, and he posed for the cam and signed my stuff with a flourish.  He then introduced me to a Puerto Rican couple who happened to be on the same flight.  I was then extremely distracted by this guy lingering by the entrance and he turned out to be Pablo.  Recognising me, he smiled and pecked me on the cheek while I load him with sushi and cookies we had baked the day before.  He beamed gratefully and left me a sweet msg in my photo album and we took pictures together.  Then I got a hug and Didier, the extremely hyper one in that ungodly time, playfully kicked me from behind.  I spun around and he gave a nonchalant shrug and pointed to another fan next to him.  Ha!  That guy was totally full of energy, prancing around and singing and cheekily chanting 'Mujer.... Mujer...'.  He signed my albums and took pictures before bouncing off.  Enters dear Abel, in a white bandana and a guitar strapped to his back, looking rather disorientated from the attention he was receiving.  Like a little hurricane, he proceeded to autograph my Un Poco Mas and A Little Piece of Heaven, questioning which album I prefer.  I told him I favour the Spanish ones and he agreed that Un Poco Mas was great.  (Actually, he said it was a 'kick ass' album)

The guys were late and were herded to the check -- in row soon after.  I got another picture with Caleb who was gamely posing for every cam.  Didier decided to expend his boundless energy by boogying and singing out loud, much to the amusement of the other passengers of the plane.  He then scurried back to us, singing little ditties and asking if we'd ever heard of them.  I then passed him his cookies and he was thrilled, proclaiming that he loves galletas.  I asked him to pass the rest of our biscochos to Abel and Caleb and he sped off after feigning annoyance -- "So I'm a messenger guy now huh?"  I think that guy was just too excited for the birthday.  He sprang back and I caught him for another picture.

The guys then started to leave for departure when I realised that I hadn't gotten a shot of Abel.  I shouted his name and grabbed him.

"Can I have a picture?"

"Sure!"

Seems to me that we're always shouting when we speak to each other.

He hollered for Jiaxin and we had a shot.  Then they really had to leave, and I was blocked by this swarm of fans who sealed off any way of contact I could manage with them.  I called for Pablo, who thanked me again and was soon mobbed by this lady who looked like she was gonna llorar.  They went past the departure gates and waved at the frantic fans while I stand aside and allowed my heart to sink and languish.  I waved to no one in particular (by then I was kinda down) and overheard a girl saying that playful Didi had attempted to pull her pants down.  I love that guy.
