Get this: Ricky Martin used to belong with them!

MDO, I should say mmmmDO, are five hot totties from Latin America who’ve been making girls go weak in the knees.

And without any help from senor Martin, they’ve had three years of triple hit albums and legions of adoring female fans.

Didier Hernandez, Pablo Portillo, Alexis Grullon, Abel Talamantez and Caleb Einar Aviles Reyes, all in identical white shirts, hopped off the bus, and pumped my hand.

Before my heart could skip a beat, five pairs of luscious Latin lips were planted on my cheeks.

Trembling on that appetiser, I tried to eat an equally hot dinner.

The youngest member, Didier, better known as Didi, 21, introduced the band: ‘MDO is the evolution of Menudo, a boyband that’s been around since 1977.

‘We’ve had changing members, but when we got together as a group in 1997, we decided to change the name from Menudo to MDO.  Menudo means youth.’

The still youthful self- proclaimed leader, 22-year-old Abel, revealed:

‘Ricky Martin was once a member of Menudo too.  He’s a good friend of ours.’

Between the curry and chicken briyani, Caleb, 22, the latest addition to the boyband added: ‘Pablo and I are from Mexico, and back there we eat a lot of hot and spicy food like jalapenos.’

Mmmm, does that make them the spice boys?

Said Alexis, the oldest member at 24: ‘All of us are really good friends who clicked instantly.  We’re almost like brothers now.’

Didi chipped in: ‘We’re a bunch of people who don’t get tired of each other’s company.  We never get bored.’

Neither do I, not when I’m out with a group of noisy, excited, rowdy kids.

We had snatched of songs throughout, including choice Mandarin phrases, and fits of laughter every few minutes.

Then there was the story of a woman who starting choking while eating at a restaurant.  ‘She couldn’t get it out, it was just stuck in her throat.’

‘But we couldn’t do the Heimlich because she was just too big!’

‘Then we got really desperate.  So I laid her on the floor and I just jumped on her stomach!  And ka-pow, a big chunk just popped out of her mouth!’

I could have choked at that story, but the Delhi Restaurant was not carpeted.

Said Caleb: ‘I don’t know how long we’ll last, but we just want to keep on going and getting better.’

You go , boys!
